Superheroes Camp

There was another Superheroes Camp run by Mad Laura & Sharon with Big B in attendance at Lapwing Lodge the first weekend in October. Judging by the reports it was a fantastic weekend enjoyed by everyone with plenty to keep the Cubs busy.
Jonathan wrote: “On my Cub camp I went crate climbing which was when the rest of the Cubs would build up crates and the other person would climb up them. At the end they would jump off. We got our face painted and I was Kung Foo Panda. On Sunday we made a car out of cardboard, then we raced them against each other. The staff had a car too. It had a watergun in it that they squirted at us. On the second race our team all fell over because the team in front tripped up one boy and Roy was the one who fell over him causing us all to fall down. It was a very good weekend.”
Alex wrote: “Last weekend I attended a Superheroes Camp at Lapwing Lodge. We all had to dress up as superheroes – I was Batman. Here are some of the things we did – crate climbing, superhero senses, blind trail, running around looking for clues which was great fun and facepainting. I hope I get the chance to go again.
Lewis thought the best thing about the camp was making cars: “We made one which looked like a rocket. When we raced the first time we came in last but the second time we were second last. The car in front of us dropped someone and he tripped up our group. After the race we got to watch our cars burn in the campfire. Another thing I liked about the camp was the food. I had seconds of everything.”
The next Cubs weekends at Lapwing Lodge are 26th – 29th March 2010 and 1st - 3rd October 2010. Please contact the centre direct for more information on 01505 812 035 or email warden@lapwinglodge.org.uk.
Round-up:
- The nights are fair drawing in – so why not ask your local community policeman to come along to give some hints on how to stay safer in the dark as part of the Community Challenge?
- The 70th Greenock and District Cubs were among the first group to visit the refurbished Greenock Fire Station. They had a great time, learned a lot and the Leaders made sure they practised the fire drill the following week. When was the last time you had a fire drill?
- The Astronomer Badge event at the Glasgow Science centre has been well and truly over-subscribed. See the next Cub Chatter for a report and photos.
